Résumé The purpose of this Law shall be to regulate relations pertaining to the organization and methods of combating and preventing livestock theft, legal proceedings for suppression of this offence, as well as determining the roles and responsibilities of the state, citizens, business entities, and officials in the aforesaid field. Combating and preventing illegal livestock trafficking shall be responsibility of state power bodies aimed at protection of livestock against criminal offences, including theft of livestock. Local government shall perform the following activities: (a) combating and preventing theft of livestock; (b) studying and elimination of the causes of theft of livestock; (c) organization of public participation for raising awareness to theft of livestock; and (d) organization of day and night patrols and watch with a view of preventing theft of livestock. Transactions regarding livestock shall be performed exclusively through contracts and agreements as envisaged by Civil Code.
