Résumé The present Law defines the general legal, economic and social bases for the protection of the rights of the citizens who are consumers of commodities and covers the relationship between them and the enterprises, organizations and institutions irrespectively of the form of ownership, conditions of economic management and individual private entrepreneurs. Article 7 establishes that the vendor (manufacturer, performer) shall be obliged to provide the consumer with the necessary and truthful information regarding denomination and identity of the manufacturer, price, consumer properties and, as regards foodstuffs, the composition, energy values and the presence of substances harmful to health. Foodstuffs the consumer properties, of which consumer properties may deteriorate in time, must also bear the date of manufacturing, the terms of use or sale. The document consists of III Section that contain 20 Articles. Section I lays down the general provisions. Section II establishes the consumers’ rights and their protection. Section III determines the relationship between the state and the public protection of the consumers’ rights.
