Résumé This Law consisting of 6 articles aims at establishing a legal protection for part of the real estate of the farm area known as “Harj Beirut” which guarantees the preservation of this forest and the protection of the environmental heritage within the capital, especially the pine forests and the green plains that surround them. The objective is to reduce pollution and create a healthy and clean environment as well as contribute to the economic level, especially in terms of tourism promotion. Art. 1 defines the area delimited by the provisions of the Law. Art. 2 prohibits construction in the area including buildings of various types, regardless of the building material, and whatever its location. Art. 3 declares the buildings in the area temporary construction in violation of the Law and require removal. Art. 4 fosters the organization of environmental, educational, orientation, and other activities to encourage eco-tourism and artisan-friendly production that serves the environment and its sustainability. Art. 5 states that the municipality of Beirut shall undertake the necessary development, rehabilitation, maintenance, afforestation and planting activities. Texte intégral Arabe
