This Law consisting of 12 articles is considered the first Law that establishes nature reserves according to international standards in Lebanon. It aims at preserving the woodland wealth by considering reserves the isle of ‘Birds and Rabbit’ in front of Tripoli and the public domain of Ehden woodland. The Law prohibits: cut, invest or manufacture all trees; the entrance of cattle; take any yields; remove stones or sands or metals and any other content of the reserves; perform any action harmful for the natural equilibrium, such as setting fire (these actions are banned also in the zone of transition within a distance of 500 meters from the borders), game (in the isle of Birds and Rabbits is also forbidden fishing) and camping.
