Résumé This Law consisting of 21 articles aims at establishing, under the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy (MoERE), the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA). NREA primary role is promotion and development of renewable energy in Egypt. Its responsibility includes (i) identification and allocation of sites for renewable energy projects; (ii) conduct technical, economic, and environmental researches to develop the use of new and renewable energy resources; (iii) it is the sole authority to approve alternatives to engineering systems for such uses; and (iv) proposal of standards for new and renewable energy systems.
