This Law enters into force on 1 May 2014.
Résumé

Article 8 (6) shall be amended to add the following wording: “Only land plots of private households, private farms, as well as land used by private gardens and gardeners' associations may be sold privately in the territories of the National Parks, protected areas and biosphere reserve, as well as recreational areas in the territories of recreational areas, as well as land bordering private plots of land. Land area of up to 1 ha may be used for agricultural activities. These bordering land plots for private ownership without auction may only be sold to the owners of adjacent plots of land without complying with the order of Article 10 of this Law.” Article 9 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Land purchasers (including forests and waterbodies) may, through land reform, be able to transfer, through a sale-by-sale, state-owned land that is returned to one citizen in kind, transferred, allotted in ownership free of charge, and purchased, and allotted to another person free of charge and purchased from the area of state land other than agricultural land would be no more than 150 ha, and the area of agricultural land would not exceed the area specified in Paragraph 1 of Article 3 of the Law on the Acquisition of Agricultural Land of the Republic of Lithuania”.
