Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force on the 10th day after the date of its official publication.
Résumé

This Law defines the issues of effective use of land, land protection, supervision over compliance with the requirements of land legislation, establishes the duties of supervising bodies, rights and responsibilities of the persons being inspected, the procedures for conducting inspections. It shall be applicable to use and protection of all land categories pertaining to land fund of the Republic of Armenia, regardless of the purposeful use thereof, right of ownership and (or) subjects exercising the right of use. The objectives of land use supervision and conservation shall be as follows: (a) ensuring the fulfillment of the requirements of the land legislation by the subjects of land relations; (b) ensuring compliance with the requirements, use restrictions, mandatory servitude, rules and regulations defined by the law related to the use and protection of land; (c) ensuring the specific use of land fund in accordance with land tenure, urban land use planning and zoning; (d) ensuring the prevention of arbitrary use of public and municipal land; (e) ensuring the implementation of national-territorial programs in the field of land resources management; (f) ensuring the collection of rent for the use of public and municipal land plots; (g) ensuring land tax collection; (h) ensuring protection of land boundaries, geodetic and other special information signs; (h) ensuring preservation and use of the fertile soil layer when carrying out works related to land disturbance; (i) ensuring implementation of specific programs for the development of new land areas; and (j) ensuring the restoration of the disturbed land and inclusion thereof in the economic turnover.
