Résumé The aim of this Law is to regulate the profession of dieticians. This Law is composed of 5 Chapters divided into 17 articles. Chapter 1 defines the profession of dieticians. Chapter 2 deals with the fields of this profession and the competences of specialists in dietetics, nutrition, alimentation and meals, as follows: (a) planning and projecting meals based on all nutritional elements; (b) controlling the workers operating in the preparation and distribution of meals; (c) defining the quality of food and equipment for purchase and storage; (d) controlling preparation and storage places; (e) guiding singular persons and groups to apply the principles of dietetics and nutrition for the selection of food; and, (g) preparing dietary food, dietetic food products and special diets compatible with the needs of the patient. Chapter 3 deals with the classification of the specialists in dietetics and nutrition as well as regulates the practise of the profession. Chapter 4 subjects the practise of the profession to a previous licence from the Ministry of Public Health as well as specifies the requirements and conditions for practising the profession.
