It also delimits a 200 nautical mile economic exclusive zone measured from the baselines aforementioned (art. 3). The continental shelf of Iceland extends throughout the natural prolongation of the land territory to the outer edge of the continental margin, or to a distance of 200 nautical miles from the baselines mentioned above.
