Résumé

This Law establishes forestry compensatory measures for mining activities carried out in the Legal Reserves. The State Environmental Agency may only authorize the extraction of mineral substances in the Legal Reserve area through a previous Environmental Licensing Process. It specifies that every mining activity depending on the suppression of vegetation in the Legal Reserve area for the extraction of mineral substances shall, before issuing the respective authorization of the State Environmental Organ for suppression of vegetation, adopt the following forestry compensatory measures: implementation of Private Reserve of Natural Heritage (RPPN); donation of area to the State of Rondônia for the implementation of a new Reserve; Conservation of the Integral Protection Group; and/or institution of perpetual environmental servitude. The area to be offered for forestry compensation shall: have a 20% greater dimension than the green area belonging to the Legal Reserve to be suppressed by the mining activity; be located in the same area of the Legal Reserve to be compensated; and be located in the territory of the State of Rondônia.
