Résumé This Law, consisting of 3 Sections and 8 Annexes, establishes the Animal Sanitary Protection to be applied within the State of Mato Grosso do Sul. It aims at the promotion and implementation of strategic sanitary measures in order to eradicate infectious, contagious and parasitic animal diseases, including for animal transiting within the State. It prescribes also the following activities to be performed by the competent authorities: veterinary inspection, controls and sanctions; promotion of community participation in order to meet with local needs, including for education on sanitary matters, socio-economic development of local population, including to protect human health, guaranteeing quality standards of animal products and byproducts, classification of animal diseases and sanitary responses as a priority are appended in the Annexes.
