Résumé This law ratifies the International Convention on the control of harmful anti-fouling systems on ships, 2001 (article 1). Any amendments or completions to the Convention shall be adopted by Presidential Decrees; decisions by the International Maritime Organization in close connection with the provisions of the Convention, shall be adopted by Ministerial Joint Decrees; the Minister of Merchant Shipping shall provide for technical details and the implementation of the Annexes connected to the Convention (article 2). Articles 3 provides for the implementation of the Convention to ships build in Greece, Greek vessels measuring more than 24 meters and foreign ships measuring more than 24 meters and are found in Greek ports. Designated authorities for the implementation of the Convention within the national territory and on international grounds are set forth in article 4. Article 5 prohibits the entering or leaving a Greek port to vessels not complying with the provisions of the Convention. Article 6 establishes sanctions for trespassing the provisions of the present law. In case of war, article 7 of this law empowers the President of the Republic to revoke partial or complete implementation of the provisions of the Convention.
