Résumé The Law consists of 4 Sections composed of 14 articles dealing with the following matters: 1) general provisions (sect. 1, arts. 1-6); 2) normative documentation on standardization and the application thereof (sect. 2, arts. 7-11); 3) liability (sect. 3, art. 12); 4) financing of standardization and stimulation of the application of standards (sect. 4, arts. 13-14). The present Law establishes the legal basis for standardization that shall be compulsory for all the state managing bodies and determines the arrangements for the state protection of the interests of the state and the consumers through the application of standardization. The Ministry of Environmental Protection shall be the authorized institution in the sphere of the application of the environmental standards and regulation in conformity therewith the use of natural resources and protection of the environment against pollution and other hazardous impacts (art. 6). The standards applicable on the national territory shall have the following classification: 1) international (regional) standards; 2) intergovernmental standards; 4) the state standards of Tajikistan (ST RT); 5) branch standards (OST); 6) standards of the enterprises (STP); 7) technical requirements of Tajikistan (TU RT) (art. 7).
