This Convention consists of 29 articles and the text of the Convention in its original Turkish translation. The Convention aims at (i) assessing and controlling marine pollution, (ii) ensuring sustainable management of natural marine and coastal resources, (iii) integrating the environment and coastal zones through prevention and reduction of pollution, (iv) protecting the natural and cultural heritage, (v) strengthening solidarity among Mediterranean coastal States and (vi) contributing the improvement of the quality of life.
