Résumé

This Law, consisting of 40 articles divided into seven Chapters and a Glossary, approves the legal regime for consumer protection. It regulates matters relating to consumer protection and applies to all natural and legal persons, public and private, who habitually carry out activities of production, manufacture, import, construction, distribution or sale of goods or services to consumers, by charging a price. In addition, it applies to bodies, suppliers, providers and transmitters of goods, services and rights, namely, the Public Administration, local authorities, companies with public capital or majority-owned by the State and public service concessionaires. Article 7 deals with the right to protection of life, health and physical safety, specifying that the supply of goods or the provision of services that entail risks incompatible with their use are prohibited.
