Résumé This Law, consisting of 10 Chapters, establishes the State Policy for Irrigated Agriculture to be applied within the State territory. It specifies requirements to be met in order to perform irrigation activity. The Agriculture State Policy Irrigated aims to: establish the guidelines of support for irrigated agriculture policies; encourage the expansion of irrigated area and increased productivity in an environmentally sustainable basis, including the construction of dams for water collection for use in irrigation; contribute to increased productivity of irrigated soils; contribute to increasing the competitiveness of agribusiness Goias and Brazil with a view to expanding the generation of employment and income; contribute to the domestic market supply of food, fiber and renewable energy as well as to generate agricultural surpluses to be exported; train human resources and foster the generation and transfer of technologies related to irrigation; encouraging private irrigation projects.
