Law No. 17.976 establishing the State Public Policy on Green Hydrogen.

This Law establishes the State Public Policy on Green Hydrogen with the aim of reducing carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere and expanding the energy matrix in the State of Pernambuco. The objectives of the State Green Hydrogen Policy are: increase the share of green hydrogen in the State’s energy matrix; encourage the use of green hydrogen in its various applications and, in particular, as an energy source and production of agricultural fertilizers; contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and, therefore, combating climate change; stimulate, support and promote the green hydrogen production chain in the State of Pernambuco; increase, on an economic, social and environmental basis, the participation of green hydrogen uses in the energy matrix; provide synergy between renewable energy generation sources; stimulate technological development aimed at the production and application of green hydrogen, oriented towards the rational use and protection of natural resources, etc. ​
