Résumé This Law, consisting of 10 articles and one Annex, provides for the inspection of products of animal origin within the State of Rio Grande Sul. It establishes that industrial and sanitary inspection of edible and non-edible products of animal origin within the State of Rio Grande do Sul are mandatory. The above mentioned inspections will be carried out by the Department of Agricultural and Livestock Protection (DDA) under the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, through the Division of Inspection of Animal Products (DIPOA). Industrial and sanitary inspections, from an industrial and sanitary point of view, cover the supervision of inspection services, the auditing of processes and controls for receiving, handling, processing, preparation, storage, packaging, labelling, transit and consumption of any products and by-products, whether or not intended for human consumption.
