Résumé

This Law, consisting of 25 articles divided into eleven Chapters and one Annex, establishes the State Policy to Combat Desertification (PECD), its implementation means; and creates the Permanent Council to Combat Desertification (CPCD). The State Policy to Combat Desertification (PECD) is created, as a permanent instrument of action, with a view to preventing desertification and reducing desertified areas through the promotion of actions to reconstitute an environment favorable to life and production in the municipalities of Sergipe. The PECD makes it possible to legally recognize the contribution of Sergipe, its municipalities and its population regarding long-term measures aimed at achieving the objective of the Convention to Combat Desertification in Countries Affected by Severe Drought and/or Desertification, Particularly in Africa (UNCCD). The final objective of PECD is the sustainable development achieved through financial and non-financial support measures that aim to provide operationality and economic viability for actions to combat Desertification, Land Degradation and Drought - DDTS, carried out in the State of Sergipe, in a regime of constant cooperation of the administrators, municipalities and competent bodies.
