Résumé This Law establishes the requirements for combating food waste and donating surplus food for human consumption. It specifies that establishments dedicated to food production and supply, including fresh food, processed products and ready-to-eat meals, are authorized to donate food surplusses that are not marketed and are still suitable for human consumption. The donated products must meet the following criteria: they are not expired and are kept in good storage conditions specified by the manufacturer; their integrity and health safety are not compromised, even if there is damage to their packaging; their nutritional properties and health security have been maintained. The food donation must be made directly, in collaboration with the public authorities, or through food banks, other social assistance charities certified under the law or religious entities and will be free of charge. The beneficiaries of the donation are single persons, families or groups in a situation of vulnerability as regards food or at nutritional risk. Texte intégral Portugais Site web www.planalto.gov.br
