Résumé This Law prohibits the use of wild animals, domesticated, natives or not, in circus shows within the State of Bahia. It specifies that those who violate this Law will be subject to a fine of 50% of the amounts collected per show, without prejudice to the apprehension of the animals used in the shows and any judicial measures that may be applicable. It will be up to the inspection agents of the Ministry of the Environment, the Brazilian Institute for the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA) and other competent bodies to comply with these provisions. Exhibition of wild animals of the exotic fauna in any kind of performance within the State is prohibited. The use of wildlife animals, native or migratory, for any purpose, is subject to the conditions set forth in art. 29 of Law No. 9.605 of 12 February 1998.
