Résumé This Law, consisting of 49 articles divided into sixteen Chapters, establishes the State Policy on Forestry. The Policy aims at the adequate and rational sustainable use of forestry resources, aiming at improving the quality of life of the population and promoting the socio-economic, conservation and preservation of the environment. The specific objectives of the Policy are: identify, implement, manage and maintain a state system of protected areas in order to protect biological communities representative of natural forestry ecosystems; promote the development of research and technologies on forestry; plan and rationalize forestry activities; encourage forestry management, agroforestry and reforestation of forestry species for multiple use; carry out the power of forestry inspection whether in public or private areas; create programmes of environmental rehabilitation, through afforestation, reforestation, forestry management and agro-silvopastorism activities; promote the conservation, protection and recovery of soils, water resources and biological diversity as well as degraded areas, especially in the areas of permanent preservation and protect areas threatened with degradation; establish protection programmes to prevent and control pests, diseases and forest fires; monitor rare or endangered species; integrate forestry actions with other environmental agencies and entities that operate in the State, etc. Texte intégral Portugais Site web www.almg.gov.br
