Résumé This Law establishes the State Policy for Incentives to the Forest-Based Productive Chain of Espírito Santo aiming at the sustainable development in the expansion of areas with productive forests and environmental adaptation of agricultural properties, through partnerships based on a decentralized management model based on inter-institutional governance. The incentives are aimed to promote native and/or exotic forestry species, and to increase the supply of timber and non-timber forestry products. The Policy guidelines are: promotion of the socioeconomic and environmental adequacy of rural properties, seeking to promote a set of integrated actions aimed at the recovery of environmental liabilities and optimization and renovation of agricultural and forestry productive areas; planning and adoption of sustainable technologies and practices; adoption of good agricultural practices, aiming at the rational use of natural resources and the reduction of environmental impacts; promote the family farmers in the forest production chain in a sustainable way; preserve, recovery and protect springs; stimulation of partnerships, both with public and private sectors, so as to enable actions and financial resources to carry out programmes; improve research and development focused on the different uses and potentials of the wood of planted forests, etc.; structuring of technical assistance and forestry services; promotion of sustainable tropical agriculture as a means of diversifying and expanding timber and non-timber products; participation of interested social and economic stakeholders in all phases of planning and execution of the public policies.
