Résumé This Law requires the certification of products and services to prevent harm to human health and the environment, protect consumers against fraud and as a guarantee of product quality. Certification shall be either mandatory or voluntary. Uzstandartshall be the central certification institution. Compliance certificates shall be issued for products demonstrated to comply with relevant standards and requirements. The Cabinet of Ministers shall validate the list of products subject to mandatory certification. Mandatory certification shall include testing of products. The domestic sale of uncertified products or products whose certification has expired shall be prohibited. Legal and natural persons may request voluntary certification for any type of product. The Act consists of four sections: (1) general provisions; (2) general requirements for certification; (3) mandatory and voluntary certification; and (4) dispute settlement and liability.
