Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force on the day of its publication.
Résumé

This Law, consisting of 140 articles divided into four Titles, lays down the Sanitary Code of the State of Roraima. The principles set forth in this Code shall include protection, promotion and preservation of health, in relation to activities of interest to health and the environment, including work. Its objectives are: 1. ensure adequate conditions for health, education, housing, transport, leisure and work; 2. improve the environment, including work, guaranteeing conditions of health, safety and public welfare; 3. ensure adequate conditions of quality in the production, marketing and consumption of goods and services, including procedures, methods and techniques; 4. ensure adequate conditions to provide health services; 5. promote actions aimed at controlling diseases or health risk factors; and 6. promote community participation in health actions. Sanitary and epidemiological surveillance actions will be developed through scientific methods, research, monitoring, situation analysis, mapping critical points and controlling risks. In accordance with the State Audit and Evaluation System, a continuous process of monitoring and evaluation of sanitary and epidemiological surveillance actions should be maintained, aiming at improving technical and scientific quality.
