Section 4(2) provides that a statutory lease shall be a lease for thirty years commencing from the appointed day and, subject to subsection (3), renewable by the tenant for a further period of thirty years. Subsection 3 provided, with respect to the exercise such right of renewal, that the tenant shall serve on the landlord a written notice of renewal at least six months before the expiration of the original term of the statutory lease.
