Résumé

The present Act lays down provisions relating to the practice of land surveying for the protection of the public and administration of the profession. Section 6 establishes that the Association of Manitoba Land Surveyors is continued as a body corporate. The purpose of the association is to: a) uphold and protect the public interest in the delivery of land surveying services by ensuring the competence, integrity and independence of its members; and b) act in the public interest in matters affecting the protection, viability and security of the land tenure system in Manitoba. The text consists of 89 sections divided into 14 Parts as follows: Interpretation (1); Practice of land surveying (2); Association of Manitoba Land Surveyors (3); By-laws (4); Registration and licensing (5); Professional corporations (6); Complaints (7); Rights and powers of land surveyors (8); Prohibitions (9); Compliance (10); General provisions (11); Joint Board on Inter-professional Issues (12); Related and consequential amendments (13); Transitional, repeal and coming into force (14).
