Résumé In accordance with decisions 1/CP.19 and 1/CP.20, the Republic of Seychelles developed this Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC) towards achieving the objective of the UNFCCC as set out in its Article 2. The document includes both mitigation and adaptation measures. As for the mitigation measures, they aim to emission reductions covering (i) public electricity from supply side diversification and energy efficiency; (ii) land transport through a high penetration of public transport, targeting fuel efficiency and bio-fuels in import, and moving towards electric vehicles and two-wheelers; and (iii) solid waste management, i.e. looking at the potential of a waste to energy facility. While adaptation measures aim at reducing the country’s vulnerability and increase resilience with respect to critical infrastructure, tourism, food security, coastal and marine resources, water scarcity, energy security and health.
