Environmental impact assessment (EIA) shall be integral part of project documentation to be submitted for validation by the state environmental audit. Environmental impact assessment (EIA) shall be based upon the following principles: (a) obligatoriness; (b) integration – complex evaluation of the projected economic activity upon environment, population, agriculture and industry; (c) alternative options; (d) sufficiency – detailed evaluation; (e) preservation of biological diversity; (f) compatibility with living quality standards of the local population; (g) flexibility in relation to specific projected activity; and (h) public participation. All the projected economic activities shall be classified in four categories in accordance with sanitary and hygienic requirements.
