Their primary objectives are to (i) devise an approach that facilitates and oversees transformative processes in the rangelands, ensuring the preservation of future options; (ii) safeguard the resources of the rangelands and protect their biological and cultural heritage; (iii) harmonize the varied economic, cultural, and social needs of rangeland residents and users; (iv) provide a structure for stakeholders with interests in rangelands to formulate strategies and take actions that manage change and secure a viable legacy for generations to come.
