This Technical Regulation sets out the safety requirements for bottled mineral water, requirements for its production, labelling, packaging, disposal and compliance procedures, as well as rules for identification to prevent misleading consumers. This Technical Regulation shall not apply to infant food. Mineral waters shall be subject to mandatory compliance confirmation. Mineral waters circulating on the territory of the Republic of Armenia must be accompanied by a certificate of conformity or declaration of conformity, or must be labelled with conformity mark. It establishes safety indices for chemical composition of mineral waters. Transportation of mineral water as raw materials extracted from natural sources of mineral water (boreholes), and destined for bottling, shall be carried out in sealed tanks in accordance with the procedure established by technological instruction for a particular type of mineral water. Such tanks shall be indelibly marked as designed only for the transportation of liquid foodstuffs. Consumer bottles with mineral water must be sealed hermetically in such a way as to avoid the possibility of penetration into their contents without apparent infringement of the integrity of the package or in the equipment that completes the package. Mineral water labelling shall be performed in accordance with the requirements of legislation in the field of consumer protection and must contain reliable information on the type of mineral water.
