Résumé

Commission on Chemical Safety of the Republic of Tajikistan is the body coordinating the activities of the ministries and departments of the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of ensuring the chemical safety of citizens, society and the state. The main tasks of the Commission shall be as follows: (a) preparation of proposals for solving strategic problems in the field of chemical safety for consideration by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan; (b) analysis of information on the functioning of chemical safety systems in the Republic of Tajikistan, development of recommendations for their improvement; (c) development of recommendations and proposals concerning an integrated approach to solving issues of ensuring the constitutional rights of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of chemical safety; (d) development of proposals for improving control measures by the competent authorities in the field of handling chemicals and biological agents, the implementation of regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Tajikistan on chemical safety; (e) establishment of a unified system of registration, testing and control over chemical substances and biological preparations, first produced in Tajikistan, or imported into the country; (f) cooperation with foreign states and international organizations on the handling of chemicals and biological agents; (g) approval of the "List of chemicals and biological agents authorized for use in the Republic of Tajikistan", making amendments and additions to it; and (h) consideration of proposals for testing and registration of chemicals, biological agents and decision-making related thereto. In order to solve the tasks assigned to it, the Commission: (a) analyzes incoming information on the state of chemical safety in the country, summarizes it and identifies problems requiring urgent solutions; (b) if necessary, prepares relevant draft decisions on chemical safety issues for consideration by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan; (c) participates in the preparation of draft regulations and programs on chemical safety; (d) develops and approves regulations governing activities in the field of handling chemicals and biological agents; and (e) interacts with state bodies of the Republic of Tajikistan on chemical safety issues. The Commission is formed and abolished by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
