Persons who wish to abstract groundwater (other than an authorized water supplier) shall apply for a licence to the Grand Bahama Utility Company Limited, being a licensee of the Port Authority empowered to supply water to the public in the Port Area. The Port Authority may also grant well permits under these Regulations. No well permit shall be issued for the construction or enlargement of any well to any person for a private water supply in any area where a public water supply is available. Suppliers shall obtain a permit from the Port Authority to become an authorized supplier of public water.
