Professional Forestry means, for a fee or remuneration,the performing or directing of works, services or undertakings which, because of their scope and forest management implications, require specialized knowledge, training and experience equivalent to that required for a professional forester. The purpose of the association is to uphold the public interest in the practice of professional forestry by ensuring (a) the competence, independence and integrity of its members, and (b) that every person practising professional forestry is accountable to the association and to the public. The council of the Association is provided for in articles 6 and7. The legislative process of the Associaton is presented in articles 8, 9 and 10. The proceedure to become a professional forester is set out in detail from article 11 to 22, and covers registration, membership, special permit, fees, and proper use of title. Finaly the rest of the act from article 24 to 35 deals with complaints, investigation, consequences of conviction, penalties, discipline and appeals.
