Contrary to Annex III of the aforementioned Directive, a separate place for washing, cleaning and disinfecting carriage vehicles for animals is not necessary in slaughterhouses, if they amount to less than a thousand animal a year and if they are carried directly by the same animal keeper to the slaughterhouse (art. 3). Furthermore, contrary to Annex III of the above mentioned Directive, a temperature of 4° or less is required for minced meat produced and marketed in Austria (art. 7).
