Résumé These Regulations, consisting of six sections, establish the vinegar standards to be satisfied in composition and additives, according to the different type of vinegar as specified under regulation 2. No person shall sell, offer for sale, expose for sale, store, transport, distribute, advertise or use the following types of vinegar unless their standard of composition is in conformity with these regulations: Coconut Vinegar; Coconut Water Vinegar; Malt Vinegar; Wine Vinegar; Cider Vinegar; Fruit Vinegar; Spirit Vinegar; Distilled Vinegar; Artificial or synthetic Vinegar; Flavoured Vinegar. The label on container of vinegar shall, in addition to the conditions set out in the Food (Labelling and Advertising) Regulations, 2005: have on it the name of the source from which is derived; except when produced by fermentation of plant products, bear the statement "artificial vinegar"; in the case of flavoured vinegar, indicate the flavour so added.
