They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
Résumé

These Regulations are framed in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) and clause (f) of sub-section (2) of section 92 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 for regulating the transaction of business in the meetings of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (Authority). The Regulations provide for the notice, location and frequency of meetings of the Authority. The Regulations allow the Chairperson to invite any officer of the Authority or any other person qualified in the matters to be discussed at any meeting or any member or Chairperson of the Scientific Panel with a view to facilitate meaningful discussions, but such invitee shall have no right to vote. They also make provisions in respect of quorum, agenda of the meeting, decisions of the Authority based on consensus and voting. The CEO shall attend the meetings of the Authority and maintain the record of proceedings of all items of business. All members of the Authority are required to maintain independence and confidentiality in respect of the business transacted at the meetings.
