Résumé

This Act establishes the Safe Food Production QLD and provides for food safety matters relating to the production of primary produce; it consists of 142 sections and is divided into 12 Parts. The Safe Food Production QLD is a body corporate and does not represent the State (sect. 2). Part 2 is dedicated to the Safe Food Production QLD, its organization, its functions and powers. Part 3 establishes and regulates the Food Safety Advisory Committee to give advice, or make recommendations, to Safe Food or the Minister about matters related to food safety. Part 4 is dedicated to food safety schemes and programs, Part 5 creates the accreditation system to ensure the production of primary produce is carried out in a way that makes the primary produce safe for human and animal consumption. Part 6 is dedicated to the auditing system, which has the purpose to ensure places and activities associated with the production of primary produce comply with the Act. Part 7 defines serious food safety offences, Part 8 covers enforcement, investigations and offences and Part 9 is dedicated to appeal procedures.
