Résumé The purpose of this Act is to undertake strategic initiatives to renew the fisheries, and enhance fish, fisheries and fish habitat, in British Columbia. The Act establishes the Fisheries Renewal BC, a corporation consisting of a board of not more than 12 directors, all to be appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council. Notably, is the Board's mandate, which is set out in detail at article 5. Articles 7 and 8 set out the powers of the Board, and article 9 deals with its remuneration. The Act makes provisions for personnel matters in articles 10 and 11. It also deals with financial issues including administration, audit, budget and investment, in articles 15, 16, 18, 20, and 21. The Fisheries Renewal BC is to hold a public annual meeting (art 19), to discuss all the above. Finally the Act makes provisions in articles 22 to 25, with regards to disclosure and conflict of interests, and directors liability.
