Résumé

This Regulation sets standards, practices and procedures with regards to the processing and handling of fish for human consumption. It is divided up into 7 sections as follows: Part I - General; Part II - Labelling; Part III - Code Markings; Part IV - Canned Fish; Part V - Fresh or Frozen Fish; Part VI - Pickled, Spiced and Marinated Fish and Part VII - Salted Fish; The general provisions under Part 1 deals with various matters including inspection. Where an inspector is satisfied that any fish meets the requirements of these regulations, he shall, issue an inspection certificate for such fish. The Appeal procedures are outlined with regards to a decision of an inspector in respect of any inspection, grading, marking or other matter under the Act or a related part of these Regulations. Licences are also dealt with including Fish buyer's licences and Fish broker's licences. A licence is not assignable and provisions concerning their cancellation are contained at section 16. This Regulation also sets out specific requirements in the subsequent schedules as follows: Schedule A - Construction and Equipment Requirements for Establishments; Schedule B - Operating Requirements for Establishments; Schedule C - Requirements for Boats Used for Fishing or Transporting Fish for Processing; Schedule D - Requirements for Establishments Storing Frozen Fish; Schedule E - Requirements for Fish Buying Stations and Schedule F - Requirements for Retail Fish Outlets.
