The Act has application within and outside Canada (e.g., embassy lands and buildings). In the Province of Quebec, real property is referred to as an "immovable." The text – consisting of 22 sections – deals with the following matters: delegation, dispostions, leases and licences, grants and concessions, application of other laws, Minister of Justice, authority for dispostions, acquisitions and administrative transfers, general and coming into force.
