Résumé These Regulations, are made by the President under Section 20 read with Sub-section (3) of Section 4 and under Section 14 of the Import and Export (Control) Act, No. 1 of 1969 and paragraph (2) of Article 44 of the Constitution. They consist of nine sections and one Schedule, establish export requirements of products as specified in the attached Schedule. Exporters, according to the exported article, shall furnish a certificate of conformity with the Sri Lanka Standard, issued by laboratory accredited for the testing. Exporter who exports any article setout in the Schedule shall (before Customs Clearance) make available to the Director General of Customs with Certificate of Clearance issued by the Director General of Sri Lanka Standards Institution with all documents relating to the articles and samples from each consignment as may be required by them. The processing of article(s) covered under this regulation shall be assessed for conformity assessment procedures and guidelines laid down by the Director General of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution. No exporter shall export items covered under this regulation unless Certificate of Clearance is granted to him to do so, by the Director General of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution.
