Résumé This Executive Decree approves the Regulation of the National Environmental Inspection Service within the Ministry of Environment. It aims to ensure the implementation of the policy for the inspection of activities likely to cause significant damage to the environment. The Regulation, consisting of 10 articles divided into three Chapters and two Annexes, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Service. In particular, the Service aims at performing the following activitites: a) monitor the compliance with environmental standards in public or private activities likely to cause significant damage to the environment; b) ensure the inspection and control of pollution; e) raise a notice for infractions detected in activities that interfere with the environment; d) participate in the collaboration with the Legal Office for all litigation proceedings to be initiated; e) collaborate with other State bodies in inspection; i) carry out preventive inspection of projects whose activity requires an Environmental Impact Assessment; etc. Texte intégral Portugais Site web www.legis-palop.org
