This Act prescribes the principles of the operation of the electricity market, based on the need to ensure an effective supply of electricity which is provided at a reasonable price and which meets environmental requirements and the needs of consumers, and the utilisation of energy sources in a balanced manner, in an environmentally clean way and with a long-term perspective. The Act further provides for market participants; system responsibility; balance responsibility, balance settlement and balancing electricity; generation; network activities; support for payment of connection charge; sale; contracts; building a wind power plant on a public water body; cooperation mechanism for promoting the production of renewable energy; state supervision; and liability.
