Résumé

No person shall introduce into Botswana, except from the Republic of South Africa, any poultry unless such poultry is accompanied by: (a) a written permit by the Principal Veterinary Officer authorizing the introduction of such poultry; (b) a certificate, issued by a veterinarian authorized thereto by the Government of the country of origin, showing: (i) that poultry examined was found healthy and free from diseases specified in this provision; (ii) in the case of domestic fowl, the tuberculine test was carried out; (iii) in the case of turkeys, geese and ducks, that the premises where the poultry came from was free from tuberculosis; (iv) agglutination tests in respect of specified fowl and turkeys were carried out and found negative. Regulation 4 deals with the introduction of birds. (5 regulations)
