They introduce various measures to control movement and hygiene of stock, such as import control (regs. 4 and 5), inoculation (6); examination (7); slaughter (12); stock free zones (14); inspection (15); destruction of stock (24); isolation of stock (28); impounding of stray stock (45); branding of cattle (50); etc. Regulations 75 to 102 contain special measures for specific diseases. Regulation 3 specifies diseases for the purpose of these Regulations. Importation of stock shall be imported only after having obtained a permit from the Director of Veterinary services (reg. 5). The Minister may, by Notice in the Official Gazette, declare any area to be a diseased area (reg. 84).
