Résumé

This text, as in accordance with the provisions of the Serbian Law on disaster risk reduction and emergency situation management, contains the Disaster risk assessment, aimed at: improving knowledge about risks, upgrading knowledge using good practices and international standards for the needs of practical procedures in planning, investing, insurance, etc; risk assessment at all levels and by all entities at a standardized level and in manner that ensures the comparability of the results obtained; formation of a database in one reference document that will serve as the basis for future assessments and planning of public policies aimed at management of possible natural and other disaster risks. Risk assessment and mapping contribute to ensuring the priority of policy decisions, in order to offer the most appropriate prevention measures and according to the most serious risks and readiness. This Assessment contains specific issues as regards earthquakes, erosion and land sliding, floods, extreme weather event, lack of potable or drinking water, human disease epidemic and pandemic, plant diseases, animal diseases, explosions and fires, technological accidents (also nuclear and radiological), and terror attacks.
