Risk assessment and mapping contribute to ensuring the priority of policy decisions, in order to offer the most appropriate prevention measures and according to the most serious risks and readiness. This Assessment contains specific issues as regards earthquakes, erosion and land sliding, floods, extreme weather event, lack of potable or drinking water, human disease epidemic and pandemic, plant diseases, animal diseases, explosions and fires, technological accidents (also nuclear and radiological), and terror attacks.
