Résumé This Directive, for the purposes of the Serbian Veterinary Law and Animal Welfare Law, prescribes the manner for conduction of veterinary inspectors, or official controls that shall be carried out in cases of emergency cattle slaughtering procedures, as well as for forced slaughter of animals on the farm. Slaughtering can also be performed outside the approved slaughterhouse for pigs, sheep, goats, poultry and rabbits if they are intended for household use. It's not allowed to slaughter cattle outside approved facilities, even if they are intended for use in household, and in terms of economic exploitation of the animal. An exception to this rule, for live animals that can be accepted for slaughter for human nutrition, permits the emergency slaughter of domestic ungulates outside the slaughterhouse if a healthy animal had an accident that made it impossible to transport it to the slaughterhouse, and for reasons of respect of the welfare of interested animals.
