Denomination of origin for wines refers to the geographical name of a viticultural region, used to produce a quality and well known product, whose characteristics are related to the natural environment and human factors. Geographic indication for table wines, refers to the geographical name of a region used for a product derived from that particular region. The geographic indications have to include a viticultural area and should produce wines with typical characteristics.
