This text entered into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette (published on 24 December 2021).

Résumé

This Decree, based on the provisions of the Croatian Water Law, establishes a public institution called: Josip Juraj Strossmayer Water Institute. The founding rights in the Institute, on behalf of the Republic of Croatia, shall be exercised by the ministry in charge of water management. The activity of the Institute is: 1. implementation of surface, including coastal and groundwater monitoring as well as laboratory works; 2. preparation of expert bases for the development of the water management strategy, water area management plan, flood risk management plan and multi-year programmes for the construction of water structures; 3. preparation of scientific, study and analytical bases for the needs of water management; 4. implementation of other scientific research in the field of water management; 5. performing tasks of preparing scientific and professional analyzes of draft laws and implementing regulations; 6. performing activities of international cooperation in the field of water management, and preparation and implementation of international projects related to water management; 7. performing the tasks of developing a model for evaluating the efficiency of water service providers and preparing reports and analyzes thereof; 8. training of civil servants and other employees in the public sector and the economy in the field of water management; 9. preparation of other scientific, study and analytical bases; 10. performing expertise in the field of water management; 11. performing other tasks in accordance with applicable laws and by-laws in the field of water management and other acts in the field of water management and its Statute.
